Cranbrook Symphony Orchestra

Membership

     We are keen are keen to recruit more musicians with a passion for music and enthusiasm for performance. We welcome musicians of all ages from teenagers learning at local schools to pensioners retired to the country. The Orchestra’s regular members are a mix of professional and amateur musicians drawn from Kent and Sussex who rehearse and perform a wide range of classical music. There are usually two concerts per year in the locality. The Orchestra plays a wide repertoire of music and has performed a number of concertos with many established soloists.
     The Orchestra welcomes new players of all ages. We ask that you be of at least grade seven or equivalent. You are invited to attend three trial rehearsals, should you wish to join the orchestra all we ask is that you attend on a regular basis and in particular attend the rehearsal in the afternoon of the concert. Dress code for concerts is either all black or black tie for gentlemen, black for ladies.

Membership fee
     The Orchestra is a Registered Charity and is funded mainly by ticket sales and generous supporters. Orchestra members pay an annual subscription of £90, split into three equal payments.

Rehearsal and concert schedule
     Rehearsals take place term-time on Monday evenings, 7.30pm to 9.30pm at The High Weald Academy, Cranbook
     There is a dress rehearsal on the day of the concert from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
